What does one do on a night so beautiful as this one? Go for coffee with Roy for a couple of hours, drive him home, & then, due to circumstance, stay awake for the rest of the night. Here is how it goes! I drive home after dropping Roy off with the windows down and the radio on. A night as warm and calm as this has not been seen in a long time by the likes of me! I park at home to discover that our bikes are strewn about 10 feet away from their home and the bike locks are cut :( I don’t know if my late arrival home stopped the would-be thief(s) in mid-action or if he/they realized that the tires were flat and abandoned the crime. So, up to the house, I bring the now-unsecured bikes. I sit down, read my email, use the washroom, and look outside to see a lightning storm as I have never seen before!!! The sky didn’t go black for 10 min because there were so many strikes. I grab my camera, tripod and an Umbrella, and out the door I go to the legislature. By this time, the nice, calm night I was relishing earlier has turned into a storm of storms. The wind is quick and decisive, so much so, it snatched up my umbrella and tossed it most of the way across the legislature grounds without getting even remotely close to the ground till it was deposited somewhere out of my sight! (I was able to retrieve it after the storm passed, and let me tell you it was quite the hike.) So after setting up in a sheltered area, I started firing off photos; I took about 420 photos to get this one.
